Profile - Bob Anderson

Bob Anderson, The Limestone Cowboy, is another legend among legends. Bob is another character of the sport, dressed in cowboy shirts, darts at the ready. Bob makes his entrance onto stage to his namesake song "Like a Limestone Cowboy" and he soon starts to shoot down his opponents.

Bob was not always a dart player. He was picked for the British Olympic javelin team of 1968. Sadly he broke his arm and never made the trip to Mexico. He then turned to football, playing to a moderately high standard for Lincoln, Guilford and Farnborough Town, but his injury jinx struck again and he broke his leg, ending his career.

His darts career then began, and it was not long before he was picking up major honours, World Champion in 1988, World Master in 1986, 1987, and 1988, World Matchplay Champion in 1987, England team member for many years and captain in 1992 are just a few of his achievements, in 2008 Bob became the Betfred Legend of Darts, and in 2010 Bob will join the Legends of the Oche on their theatre tour of the UK.

At 61 years young, still going strong, Bob is a true Legend of Darts.
