Keith Deller, it is true to say that Keith made his darting reputation in one amazing tournament, the World Championship at Jollee's night club in Stoke on Trent in 1983.
Keith was the youngest player and the first qualifier to win the Championship, his victory over Eric Bristow in the final was probably the biggest upset in the history of the sport, he also beat World number 2 Jocky Wilson, and World number 3, John Lowe in the quarters and semi final, this again was a first, not only did he win the World Championship, but he beat the three top ranked players in the sport. Keith's adopted nickname "The Milky Bar Kid" has stuck with him since that memorable day, Keith went on to win the British Professional title in 1987, the Double Diamond Masters, and the British Masters titles, Keith was John Lowe's opponent in 1984 when John produced the first televised 9 dart game, it has kept both Keith and John in the public eye for 25 years, the game has been watched by U Tube viewers almost one million times.
Keith has been part of the SKY TV sports team for many years, acting as "Spotter" for the cameras, his knowledge of the players and scoring helps the director anticipate where the next dart will be thrown, Keith stepped out of top line competition in 2007, deciding to concentrate on his many exhibition and promotion activities, he is one of the busiest players in the sport and can be seen on cruise ships in the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean.
Keith has joined the Legends of the Oche theatre tour for 2010, and will be a member of the "Complete Show" that will tour the UK over the next 12 months.
